Our members, friends and supporters are invited to join us for a very special evening, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Australia-Japan Society of Tasmania in style.

Where: Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania
Date: Saturday 14 November 2020
From: 6.00 for 6.30pm
Dress code: Smart casual / Traditional Japanese / Cosplay
Cost: $55 members / $65 non-members

The event will celebrate the connections between Tasmania and Japan, as well as the past, present and future of the society. Guests will be able to enjoy the following menu:

Entrees

  • Karaage chicken with ponzu mayo and spiced Asian slaw
  • Roasted cauliflower, mature cheddar and chive tartlet, finished with truffle oil and fine herbs

Mains

  • Prime eye fillet, cooked to medium, with potato and parmesan galette, buttered greens and horseradish butter
  • Oven baked blue eye trevalla with herb and pecorino crust, mashed potato and buttered broccolini, finished with a champagne and caper cream sauce

Dessert

  • Matcha green tea cake
  • Tea and coffee

The ticket price includes all of the above, as well as red and white wine. All dietary preferences can be catered for, but please notify us when you register.

The dinner will be accompanied by a program of entertainment and cultural performances, featuring kendo, Japanese dance, Judo Ju-no-Kata and Judo Katame-no-Kata.

A raffle will also be held on the evening. Many fabulous prizes have been donated, including:

Dressing up is encouraged, with prizes to be awarded for best dressed.

Our Patron, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AC, Governor of Tasmania, will be in attendance.
