--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unsounded is a musical meditation performed at sunrise on the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellingtoni, Tasmania. It will be presented by enso, comprised of venerable Shakuhachi player (trad. Japanese bamboo flute) Anne Norman and violinist/violist Emily Sheppard. enso will be in residency at Hastings Cave prior to the performance, spending intensive time listening, improvising and composing. The resulting music will form the basis for Unsounded, as well as presenting other works composed in natural and unconventional chambers; lighthouses, 75 metre long oil storage tunnels, historical underground battery’s and caves. enso incorporates traditional Japanese styles and European chamber music into their performances, combined with eco-poetry.

Arrive between 6:00am to 6:30am and make yourself cosy - bring a cuishion or beanbag to sit on and a blanket. We will serve hot tea from 6am and begin playing around 6 30 as the sun rises.
