The Australia-Japan Society (Tasmania) Inc, in conjunction with the Asia Institute of Tasmania, is hosting an interactive seminar event for the introduction of Japanese language and customs.

Led by two highly experienced Japanese language lecturers from the University of Tasmania, Akiko Osawa-sensei and Katsuhiko Suganuma-sensei will deliver an introductory class for those interested in traveling to Japan or learning Japanese language and customs – aimed at beginner & intermediate level (though all levels welcome).

The event will also include prepared bento and drinks for all registrants (which has been scientifically proven to actually help the student absorb more language!)

Specific Details:

Date/Time: Thursday 16 May 2019, 6.00-7.30pm (registration at 5.45pm please).

Location: University of Tasmania, Sandy Bay Campus, Social Science Building, Room 312 (map).

Cost: $30 for AJS-Tas members; $35 for non-members (includes dinner bento box – vegetarian option is available, but not vegan (sorry!)).

Instructors: Akiko Osawa and Katsuhiko Suganuma: Both teach Japanese language at UTAS

Registrations close: 8 May 2019

While this is an AJS-Tas-led event, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the Asia Institute of Tasmania for their support in hosting this event.

AJS-Tas also supports Japanese Language and Culture Exchange, a group who host regular language exchange meet-ups in Hobart: Facebook or Meetup.

We look forward to seeing you there!
